Accessibility statement

Accessibility statement

This statement applies to markable.uk and the Markable web application.

Markable is used by teachers in schools and colleges, and we want it to be usable by as many people as possible. We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 to level AA.

Current status

We have not yet completed a formal accessibility audit of Markable, so we cannot claim a conformance level. We are being explicit about this rather than implying a standard we have not verified. An audit is planned and this statement will be updated with its findings.

What we have done

  • The interface uses standard HTML form controls, which work with screen readers and keyboard navigation
  • Text can be resized in the browser without loss of function
  • Colour is not used as the only means of conveying information
  • Content is structured with headings so it can be navigated non-visually

Known limitations

  • The script review screen presents a document alongside annotations and has not been tested with assistive technology
  • Uploaded student work is displayed as provided by the teacher, so the accessibility of that content is outside our control
  • Some third-party components, including the payment and booking pages, are provided by Stripe and HighLevel and are subject to their own accessibility standards

Reporting a problem

If you have difficulty using any part of Markable, please email support@markable.uk and tell us what you were trying to do and what happened. We aim to respond within five working days and will tell you what we can do and by when.

Requesting an alternative format

If you need information from Markable in a different format, contact support@markable.uk and we will discuss what we can provide.
